Research Areas

The main focus of our research actvities is currently on chiral organometallic pi-complexes of heterocycles. In particular, we have started to develop a new type of chelate ligands based on phosphaferrocenes. These ligands, which can be obatined in enantiomerically pure form, can coordinate to metal fragments via the P-atom of the phosphaferrocene moiety and an additional donor group attached to the phospholyl ring. One example of the coordination chemistry of the new ligand family is depicted below.
